Delete Your Account
Last updated: October 3, 2026
You can permanently delete your Capricast account at any time, from the web or from the Capricast Android app. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
How to delete your account
- Sign in to your account.
- Open Settings (also available from the account menu in the app).
- Scroll to Delete account, choose Delete my account, and type the confirmation word.
You are signed out everywhere as soon as the deletion completes. If you cannot sign in (for example you no longer have access to your email), contact us from the address on our Privacy Policy page and we will process the deletion manually after verifying ownership.
What is deleted
Everything you created, and everything that identifies you:
- Videos you uploaded — the video files themselves (removed from our video host and our file storage), their thumbnails and exports, and their pages, along with the comments, chat, likes, and saves on them.
- Unpublished drafts and files you uploaded as creator assets.
- Direct messages you sent, and the photos, videos, and files you attached to them.
- Comments you wrote on videos. If someone replied to one of your comments, your words are removed and the reply stays, under a “[deleted]” placeholder.
- Live-chat messages, community posts, and community comments you wrote.
- Your profile: email, username, display name, avatar, bio, website, and date of birth.
- Your sign-in credentials and any linked sign-in providers (for example Google), including their stored tokens.
- All active sessions on every device.
- Poll votes, notifications, and activity/analytics events tied to your account.
- Conversation memberships and referral links.
- Pending verification and password-reset tokens.
If any file cannot be removed from storage at that moment, nothing is deleted and you are asked to try again, so a retry always finishes the job.
What is kept, and why
Content under a safety report. If something you created is the subject of an open report, or a report we upheld, it is not deleted: it is removed from public view and preserved. Reported material can be evidence, and U.S. law requires us to preserve apparent child sexual abuse material and report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC); deleting it on request would destroy that evidence. See our Safety & Community Guidelines. The deletion confirmation tells you how many items were kept this way.
Financial records. Records the law requires us to keep for accounting, tax, and fraud prevention are retained, but disconnected from your identity:
- Creator earnings and payout records are kept, linked only to an anonymized identifier — not to your name or email.
- Subscription and transaction history is kept in the same anonymized form; any active paid subscription is canceled at deletion.
What other people sent you. Messages other people sent you, and their comments and replies, are theirs and are not deleted with your account.
Meetings you hosted. Recordings and recaps of conference sessions you hosted are not removed by this button. Email admin@capricast.com and we will delete them.
An anonymized account record — an internal identifier with no name, email, or date of birth — remains so the records above stay consistent. Before deleting, you can download a copy of your data from your account (a JSON export of your profile, content, and activity).
